Terms of Service

Last updated: March 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Bucketary ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, free trial users, and paying subscribers.

2. Description of Service

Bucketary provides a self-hosted file storage and management platform. The Service includes file upload and management, video sharing, share link generation, and related features. Bucketary deploys and manages server instances on your behalf, connected to your chosen storage backend (Backblaze B2 or Cloudflare R2).

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscription and Billing

Bucketary offers a paid subscription plan at the price displayed at the time of purchase. Subscriptions are billed monthly. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

We offer a 7-day free trial for new users. No credit card is required to start the trial. If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, your instance will be suspended.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, your service will remain active until the end of your current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months.

After cancellation, your server instance will be suspended. Your files remain in your storage bucket (Backblaze B2 or Cloudflare R2) and are not affected by cancellation. You retain full access to your storage backend independently of Bucketary.

6. Your Content and Data

You retain full ownership of all files and content you upload through the Service. Bucketary does not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. We do not access, scan, read, or analyze the contents of your files.

You are solely responsible for the content you store and share through the Service. You agree not to use the Service to store or distribute content that is illegal, infringes on intellectual property rights, or violates applicable laws.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload or share malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or server instances
  • Use the Service to distribute spam or unsolicited communications
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, unexpected outages, and force majeure events may affect availability. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned maintenance in advance.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bucketary shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Bucketary harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in behavior that harms other users or the Service. In such cases, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data when possible.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Delaware.
